A Wolverhampton man was arrested last week, following an investigation conducted by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority into the unlicensed supply of workers in the herb industry. The arrest followed a joint GLA operation involving the West Midlands Police, Gloucester Police and the UK Border Agency. It is the second arrest to be made in relation to this investigation.
The supply of unlicensed labour is a criminal offence under section 12 of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004, and the use of an unlicensed gangmaster is a criminal offence under section 13 of the Act.
