As we have previously discussed, the real cost of employing someone PAYE at £5.80 is £6.98, once holidays and National Insurance has been added. We are often asked by agencies to calculate different umbrella rates, so an agency can maximise the saving through umbrella, whilst making sure it is attractive enough for the worker to encourage him to be paid as an umbrella worker. With this in mind we have designed an online calculator for agencies that shows not only how much they can save, but how much extra the worker will receive in his pay packet. Using the bespoke option, an agency can experiment with different rates.
